Every time I pass a certain location on my screen I see a yellow oval symbol with two arrows in it. I don't have a photo of it.
Any idea what that could be?

It is probably a Favorite or POI (Point Of Interest) there are some built into the satnav that are usually displayed with the 'Up Ahead' option, they can be things like restaurants, Banks, ATMs etc. and use their own logo as the picture on the display

Thanks. It's when i pass a condo building. It is the only time that ever shows up. I'll try to get a photo of it and post it here.

On some units you can select which POIs are displayed and also turn them off completely eg :-Settings >> Map & Vehicle >> Map Layers >> Up Ahead Places, but this may not be possible on the Nuvi 40

Here is what it looks like.

Ah, I don't think that is a POI, I think it is a permanent map feature, it looks like a small service road (like the ones above it), leading to a circular path or road, if there is a building on that spot I would think it could be an in building car park ? or somewhere you can drive a car into a building for delivery maybe ?

Yes, I see what you mean. There is a little driveway there. I have never seen anything like that appear before. Thanks.

I think I have found it, it looks like it is a circular car park in front of Four Hundred Third Condominiums, note your picture has South at the top of the screen and my map from Open Street Maps has North at the top

Good work. That actually is facing south, but I don't see "South" on the screen. It's probably right in front of me. I have never seen anything like that icon on this Garmin before. It's odd to me.

The street view and the satellite views are looking South but the map is the other way around, there isn't a 'South' in your picture, but if you have E 3rd. Ave at the bottom, E 2nd Ave. in the middle and E 1st. Ave at the top then the car is travelling South. The yellow ring isn't an icon it is an un-named 'road', the only difference is the colour, yellow may be used for service roads or may be private roads

I see what you mean. I appreciate the info. I love the Nuvi 40. I have an eTrex 30X that I will take to England this summer. It will be fun to track the speed of the Eurostar to Paris.
