First what's the difference between a via point and shaping point? Changing gears, I created a route on Basecamp a few months ago, loaded into our 396. When bringing up the route on the 396 I believe it told me I had too many via(?) points so it divided the route into two routes. The second route was completed hosed up. That said if I remember someone told me you can only have 12(?) via points with this unit? Help! thanks.

The above link also explains the difference between Routes and Tracks, a Route can only have a limited number of intermediate points, a Track can have many more, so you may need to create a Track instead of a Route
