I swear on my old Garmin 76 I could move the cursor to a map location and do a quick mark to create a waypoint which I could then edit. It appears that my 78 sc only allows me to create a point to navigate to but not an actual waypoint that I can edit and store. Am I missing something? I realize I can create a waypoint for my current location and edit lat/long but that is not what I want to do.

Although you may not be able to 'Mark' any location except your current location, you can probably get the GPS to display the 'map pointer' location, so that you can manually enter this location into a waypoint edit
