Basecamp not showing downloaded Garmin maps

I recently updated my Garmin DriveSmart, and selected the option to install the maps "to computer and device".
However, when I disconnect the device, I don't see the new map file in the Basecamp "Maps" dropdown.

You could try re-connecting the Drivesmart to your computer, running Garmin Express and selecting download to ' Computer Only'

Good idea Nuvi-Nebie but I don't think that would help. I found the folder with the downloaded maps. It's called "Map_Map.NA.2023.1" and the download put it here: "This PC > Windows (C) > ProgramData > garmin > coreservice > downloads > map".

Basecamp doesn't seem to find it there, and I don't see a way of telling it where to go look for it. I tried copying that folder to where I found the "Global Application Basemap" but that didn't do the trick.

I'm guessing if I just did another download it would put it in the same place and Basecamp still wouldn't find it.

Are you running the latest version of Garmin Basecamp ?

Yup, that did it, hooray!
I uninstalled Express, re-downloaded it, ran as Admin, then re-did the map download.
This time no error!

I'm glad it's sorted, I didn't mention Garmin Express earlier because it seems to offer a new update virtually every time I use it, I guess they started placing map files in a different area for some reason
