Basic Question about screens

I have a Tom Tom that's several years old and I'm considering a replacement. The biggest issue I have with the unit is that the screen is virtually non-readable in direct sunlight.

Is there a screen type (i.e. LED vs LCD) available that is more readable screen under these circumstances?
