course over ground

    hello,

    can any one know how the course over ground is determined by gps receiver...
    I have heard that it is determined as the line of sight from last position to current position. But, if so, then how can it represents the direction of velocity vector rather it should represent the direction of vehicle...

    please do answer if any one has any idea.
