Drivesmart 76 connection

Hey all, Happy Holidays to all! Anyway.....Drivesmart 76, 2021 Subaru. Trying to hook it up so I can play car stereo, and have calls interrupt, then return to stereo. Trying to avoid using the phone as a go-between. As close as possible to use like a factory install. Is it even possible? So far I can only get it to work if I play music on the phone to the stereo, it will interrupt for map directions, but want to use CD player, FM, etc, of ot is possible. Any hints, suggestions, etc, appreciated.

Thanks for the link. Garmin tech also referred it to me. it is in the manual. I've read it many times, gonna start fresh today, it's gotta be one step I'm missing, or doing wrong(obviously).
