Hi

Re: route Garmin 64s

if i have a route of 40 waypoints

and part way around the route i want to skip a section and jump from point 20 to point 30; can I do it?

if so, how?

thanks

You will always be directed back to any missed Waypoints along a Route because every Waypoint is reguarded as a destination that must be visited, the solution is to use Shaping points rather than Waypoints, when a Shaping is 'missed' the GPS will direct you to the next Shaping point alond the route towards the final destination. There is some info. on shaping points in this link :-

thanks you.

i check my saved routes using Basecamp and the points in the route are indeed shaping points.

this will explain while on my test routes i don't actually have to get to the point that is at the apex of a u-turn, it jumps to the next point.

i assume i had got close enough to the waypoint for it to register.

now i know it saw the other pint closer to me than the apex point.

thank you
