The "Up Ahead" items display in an area on the right side of the map. On an older GPS (an RV660) this area is rather narrow, as it shows only icons for the types displayed. On a somewhat newer GPS (a Drive 60) this area is rather too wide - as in addition to the aforementioned icons, it also shows names such as the restaurant icon and the word "Restaurants". Is there a setting which would allow only icons to display, and not names of the icons?

    Thanks for any assistance.

The only menu driven option I can think of is 'Map Detail'

    Or possibly 'Map Layers'

I've checked all the settings and have not found a pertinent one. I have seen such settings in other devices/programs (a "Display Icons Only or Icons and Description" toggle). Is a there a hidden settings menu that might accomplish this? The problem is that the "Up Ahead" display area is over one/third of a screen. This is not really such a big issue, but it would be so easily solvable if there were a setting.

On the Nuvi 56 you get to the hidden menu by tapping the 'Speed' icon on the Map Screen and then press and hold the 'Speed' display on the trip screen e.g. :-

    then

However, I haven't found anything (yet), that will do what to want

Thanks for trying. I'll keep checking menus, too, and if I find anything I'll post back.
