   With a EU version of a Garmin 590LMT I was told I can get North America maps for it. Is there a way to buy lifetime maps for it? I can't find where, if possible. The garmin buy page fir lifetime NA maps says it is not for EU units with lifetime EU maps on them.

   As you say, it does look as if you need have purchased a unit that came with a base map of North America before you can purchase updates for it. If you can't get Garmin maps for your device, you could try the free OSM maps, see link here :-
