Dear experts:

Facts:

* Garmin Nuvi 50 LM with OpenMapChest 2017.10.18
* Garmin Nuvi 57 with the same map and version
* Garmin Nuvi 67 with the same map and versión
* All GPS with the latest Garmin upgrades
* Route tested: LAX Airport (CA) to San Luis Obispo City (CA)
* Same navigation preferences and avoidances in the three GPS (faster time, U-Turns, Carpool Lanes, Unpaved Roads)
* GPS in simulation mode

In the three GPS I uploaded the same POI file, using Garmin POI Loader software.

I used those loaded POI to test a route between LAX Airport to San Luis Obispo City.

The point I uploaded for LAX Airport is: 33.95471807,-118.37625028,"Alamo LAX Airport"

The point I uploaded for San Luis Obispo City is: 35.32737742,-120.72593977,"San Luis Obispo"

In the Nuvi 50 the route and distance is correctly displayed; in the Nuvi 57 and Nuvi 67 they show a completely wrong route (going southeast first, making the trip around 7 hours longer). Please see attached links.

If I insert the memory card of the Nuvi 57 or the Nuvi 67 in the Nuvi 50, ¡¡the route is displayed correctly on this unit!!

Any ideas or comments?

Thank you very much,

It is possible that the three units are not using the same maps, The Nuvi 50 has the Garmin CN North America NT map as well and the non Garmin Open Map Chest, if the Nuvi 57 / 67also have the same two maps they may be using the Garmin map

Different units handle maps in different ways, here is a note from the Open Map Chest site:-
Using Two Maps at the Same Time

Some GPS devices with updated firmware from Garmin are able to load two maps at the same time. The first file should be named gmapsupp.img and the second file named gmapsup1.img. Both files need to be in the Garmin folder on the SD Card.

Newer Garmin devices (e.g. eTrex 20/30) can load multiple maps by placing the .img files directly in the Garmin folder. The only requirement is that the filenames end with .img.
