What new GPS mapping units have submeter accuracy?

I was recently told that there are recent, moderately inexpensive (compared to an $8000 Trimble) models from multiple companies that have have submeter accuracy and mapping capabilities, but was unable to follow up on what models these might be... What are some of these models? Aside from GPS forums, are there any good websites to research and compare GPS units?

My needs are mainly for mapping vegetation communities including wetland delineation, where higher accuracy is preferred.
